Daniel Pickard Elected Chair of Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals and Nonferrous Metals
Washington, D.C., July 25, 2022 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is pleased to announce that Daniel B. Pickard, shareholder and chair of the firm’s International Trade and National Security practice group, has been elected Chair of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals and Nonferrous Metals (ITAC 5).
ITAC 5 is one of 15 Industry Trade Advisory Committees (ITACs), which are jointly managed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of United States Trade Representative (USTR). The ITAC’s are responsible for assisting the Executive Branch in formulating U.S. trade policy, making recommendations in regards to trade barriers and negotiations of trade agreements, and providing additional advisory functions relevant to U.S. trade policy matters.
“I am honored to have been elected by ITAC 5 membership to lead this committee in its mission to represent the best interests of the critical minerals and nonferrous metals industry sector, as it relates to U.S. trade policy” said Pickard.
Pickard has been a member of the Industry Trade Advisory Center since 2014 and was most recently appointed by Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai to ITAC 5 in May 2022.
