International Trade & National Security Practice Chair Re-Appointed to Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Critical Minerals and Nonferrous Metals
Washington, D.C., May 26, 2022 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is pleased to announce that Daniel B. Pickard, shareholder and chair of the firm’s International Trade and National Security practice group, is re-appointed to the Industry Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC).
The ITAC’s are jointly managed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of United States Trade Representative and engage business leaders in formulating U.S. trade policy. The ITAC’s are responsible for assisting the Executive Branch in formulating U.S. trade policy, making recommendations in regards to trade barriers and negotiations of trade agreements, and providing additional advisory functions relevant to U.S. trade policy matters.
“I am pleased to continue working closely with my fellow ITAC committee members and our partners in government to ensure that the United States’ trade policies and agreements benefit U.S. manufacturers, consumers and the overall economy,” said Pickard.
Pickard has been a member of the Industry Trade Advisory Committee since 2014. His most recent appointment is to ITAC 5 which will focus on critical minerals and nonferrous metals, two issues of increasing national security importance. In April 2022, Pickard was also named to the 2022-2023 United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Binational Panel Roster.
