IMMIGRATION ASSOCIATE

We have an immediate opening for an Associate attorney in our Immigration Practice Group.  This position provides a fantastic opportunity to enhance your cutting-edge immigration knowledge with increased client contact, in an AMLAW 200 firm while working on high value immigration matters.  The position also provides additional opportunities to work with attorneys at all levels within the Labor, Employment, Benefits, & Immigration Section of the Firm.  Previous immigration and labor and employment experience is required, specifically with Employment based immigration (temporary visas as well as permanent residence).  Candidates must have excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice backed up with strong academic credentials and research skills.

  • Handling a diverse caseload of immigration matters such as non-immigrant visa applications and petitions, employment-based and family-based green card processes, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility, and I-9 compliance.
  • Conducting legal research into immigration laws, regulations and policies to provide accurate advice to clients.
  • Collaborating with other attorneys, shareholders, paralegals and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
  • Drafting legal documents, such as forms, letters in support, petition packages, and correspondence. This may include H-1B, O-1, P-1, E-2, L-1A/B, NIW, EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, J-1 waiver, Labor Certification/PERM cases, RFE, NOID and Audit responses, as well as other complex immigration projects.

TRADEMARK ASSOCIATE

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Trademark Associate with 2-6 years of experience in trademark law to join our dynamic legal team.  The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of trademark registration, branding, enforcement, and litigation, and will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to our clients in a variety of industries.  This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while contributing to the growth and success of our trademark practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Counseling, Trademark Registration and Prosecution:

  • Manage the trademark application process from inception to registration, including conducting comprehensive trademark searches and preparing and filing applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Respond to office actions and coordinate with clients to address any issues that may arise during the registration process.
  • Develop and manage global trademark portfolio strategy, including preparing and prosecuting international trademark applications, managing local counsel, and communicating with clients.

Brand and Trademark Enforcement:

  • Develop and implement strategies for trademark enforcement, including monitoring and addressing potential infringement issues.
  • Draft and send cease-and-desist letters and negotiate settlement agreements as necessary.
  • Coordinate global trademark enforcement efforts, including review of international trademark watch notices, management of international trademark opposition and cancellation matter, and oversight of global trademark litigation matters.

Litigation and Opposition Support:

  • Assist in trademark litigation matters, including conducting legal research, preparing pleadings, and supporting discovery efforts.
  • Collaborate with external counsel as needed on complex litigation cases.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

We have an immediate opening in our Washington, DC office for an analyst with 4 years or more of experience handling antidumping and countervailing duty investigations before the U.S. Department of Commerce. Candidates should have strong experience with Department of Commerce antidumping and countervailing duty investigations, including quantitative and qualitative questionnaire response analysis, testing scenarios in SAS and calculating rates for CVD programs. In addition to analytics, candidates must have excellent academic credentials and strong research and writing skills.
