Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Shareholder Richard Jacobson Appointed to the International Taxation Committee of FICPA
Tampa, FL - June 22, 2015 - Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announced that Shareholder Richard A. Jacobson was appointed to the International Taxation Committee of the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA). Jacobson is a Certified Public Accountant who is also Board Certified by the Florida Bar in International Law.
Founded in 1905, the FICPA has been working to advance the accounting profession in Florida for more than 100 years and now has more than 18,500 members. Continued membership growth and renewal has made the FICPA one of the largest CPA organizations in the United States. Based in Tallahassee, it serves as the premier professional organization representing Certified Public Accountants in the state.
Jacobson’s legal practice includes the representation of foreign clients seeking pre-residency tax planning assistance, the coordination of U.S. tax and immigration planning and international estate planning. He has experience working with foreign investors in U.S. real estate (FIRPTA) and other business ventures as well as assisting U.S. companies exporting products or services or conducting business internationally.
He received his J.D. from the University of Florida’s Levin School of Law and his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. He has been selected by his peers to be listed in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2006 and has garnered an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review rating, the highest available mark for professional excellence from Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Ratings.
