Yova A. Borovska Quoted about I-9 Audits in Bloomberg BNA’s Daily Labor Report

Immigration associate Yova A. Borovska weighed in about a recent immigration case in which SKZ Harvesting Inc., a cherry harvesting company in Montana, must pay $29,600 for I-9 violations, which is a reduced penalty than originally sought by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Borovska described a major reason for the reduction in the fine to be “the small size of the employer, its high turnover rate of seasonal employees, and its unsophisticated nature.”
