White-Collar Defense and Investigations Attorney Jim Becker to Present on FCPA at Duquesne University's Ethics and Compliance Network Event

James M. Becker, a shareholder in the White-Collar Defense and Investigations practice at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Philadelphia office, will present at a Pittsburgh Business Ethics and Compliance Network event, taking place January 20, 2009. The program, sponsored by Duquesne University's Beard Center for Leadership in Ethics, will examine the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) — a federal law passed in 1977, which addresses accounting transparency requirements under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as well as monitors bribery of foreign officials.

Becker has been invited to present as an "outside expert" on the FCPA. He will discuss recent enforcement developments under the FCPA.

The program will take place at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh from noon until 1:30 p.m.
