Hackers are becoming more sophisticated. Rather than attacking companies directly, they are increasingly acquiring companies’ data by compromising third-party vendors. These vendors are charged with safeguarding personal information, but the companies can be held liable for the vendors’ inadequate cybersecurity. Regulators, particularly in the healthcare space, are focusing their attention on these issues today. This webinar addressed the challenges faced by healthcare companies using third-party vendors, including where the risks lie, the laws implicated, the enforcement action regulators may take and the steps companies can take to manage the risk.
