U.S. revokes Russia's market economy status - Reuters
In a landmark victory for the U.S. industry, the U.S. Department of Commerce decided to revoke Russia's status as a market economy. The status was granted twenty years ago and limited the calculation of anti-dumping duties on Russian goods. The U.S. industry was represented by a Buchanan team led by Daniel Pickard, shareholder and chair of the firm's International Trade and National Security practice.
Reported by Reuters in “U.S. revokes Russia's market economy status,"the Commerce Department said in a statement, “This decision gives the United States the ability to apply the full force of the U.S. anti-dumping law to address the market distortions caused by increasing interference from the Russian government in their economy."
