Jonathan H. Spadt, will be moderating a set of important and timely exchanges on April 29 as a part of the on-going Global Series meetings of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.  The virtual meeting, scheduled for 11:00 a.m. EDT – 12:30 p.m. EDT, will open with a fireside chat between Jonathan and Peter Beyer, MdB, who in addition to being a member of the German Bundestag, is also the Coordinator of Transatlantic Cooperation, a position appointed by Chancellor Merkel within the German Federal Foreign Office.  That conversation will focus on the current U.S.-E.U./German trade relationship, and will explore anticipated progress toward greater cooperation between the regions.

The second part of the program will be a broader panel discussion entitled, “Trade Challenges:  Managing Today’s New Dynamics on Commerce, Technology Distribution, and Data Policy.”  That panel will include: The Honorable Jason Kearns, Chair, U.S. International Trade Commission, The Honorable Scott Kieff, Kieff Strategies LLC (former Commissioner, U.S. International Trade Commission), Dr. Bernhard Fischer, Chief IP Attorney, VP, SAP, and Mr. Michael Franzinger, Partner, Sidley Austin.  Among other topics, the panel will address today’s rapidly evolving governmental policies and their impact on private/public sector cooperation and trade.
