Shareholder Peter S. Russ Named Pittsburgh Office Head
“I am confident that Peter will build on the foundation that Susan A. Yohe has laid during her tenure,” said Jack Barbour, the firm’s CEO and Managing Director. “Susan made exceptional contributions while she was the head of the Pittsburgh office, and we’re excited to see how Peter can bring his own perspective to the role.”
Yohe was the first woman ever to be named Office Head in Buchanan’s Pittsburgh office. She led the office’s recruiting efforts and executed growth plans, among other strategic initiatives for the office. Susan remains chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which facilitates dialogue with firm management and diverse attorneys on inclusion initiatives and goals to ensure diversity remains a top priority in the hiring, advancement and retention of talented lawyers and professionals.
“My goal is to expand upon the growth strategy that is in place and continue to advance our Pittsburgh office,” said Russ.
Russ has 30 years of litigation experience in state, federal and bankruptcy courts, primarily on behalf of financial institutions and other commercial clients. Russ focuses his experience on lender liability defense and other creditors’ rights litigation. He also has experience in judicial and non-judicial commercial loan workouts, representing syndicated lender groups, banks and other lenders on a national basis in a variety of real estate and other loan restructurings.
He garnered an AV® Preeminent distinction, the highest available mark for professional excellence from Martindale-Hubbell’s Peer Review Ratings, and was named a “Top Rated Lawyer” in banking and litigation.
Russ received both his law degree and B.A. from State University of New York at Buffalo.
