Buchanan Shareholder David A. Gurwin was recently quoted on possible regulatory issues associated with the merger of Walgreen’s and Rite Aid in the Pittsburgh Business Times. The article focused on how the merger will affect Pittsburgh-based MARC USA.

"Any time you’re talking about a combination of companies that possess that much market share, it’s always going to be subject to antitrust scrutiny," said Gurwin told the publication. "How stringently the antitrust laws are enforced often matters on political whims. Some administrations take a less favorable view of these kinds of combinations so there isn’t consistency over time."
