On September 26, 2013, Charles L. Potter, Jr., shareholder in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Tax Section, will give two presentations at a Sales and Use Tax seminar in Altoona, Pa. Potter’s first presentation is titled, “Sales and Use Tax Overview” and will feature the history of the nature of sales and use taxes, the transactions that are subject to tax and the imposition of sales and use tax. His second presentation, “Recent Developments,” will focus on oil and gas issues, cloud computing, exemptions for contractors, tax on digital products and much more. Potter will also moderate the event.
This seminar should help attorneys, finance and accounting professionals, controllers, executives and tax managers avoid sales and use tax violations and determine what is taxable and what is exempt.
