Sahel Ahyaie Assar, counsel and Blockchain and Digital Assets practice group leader, will moderate a panel focused on the recent developments in crypto taxation during the 2024 May Tax Meeting hosted by the ABA Section of Taxation. This panel will address the U.S. federal income tax implications and reporting requirements for crypto related ETFs as well as current developments in taxation of digital assets, including the implications of the emergence of trading in ETH-W (Ethereum Proof of Work) after the “merge” in which the main Ethereum blockchain shifted from proof of work to proof of stake.
