Pierce Schuessler Brings His Political Expertise to Buchanan

Tallahassee, Fla. (December 2023) - Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has strengthened its Florida government relations team with the addition of political veteran Pierce Schuessler as an advisor. With more than a decade of leadership experience in Florida's executive and legislative branches, Schuessler brings a wealth of expertise to one of Florida's premier public affairs firms.

Schuessler held several senior roles in and around the Florida Capitol helping to shape statewide policy and secure significant funding for priority projects, including critical long-term Everglades restoration efforts. Schuessler has served in the Governor’s Office of Policy and Budget and later was Director of Legislative Affairs for both the Department of State and Department of Environmental Protection. Schuessler also served as a top aide for then-Senator Tom Lee, and as a special advisor to Congresswoman Laurel Lee when she was Florida’s Secretary of State.

Schuessler earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University.
