Patrick Keane Named President of Federal Circuit Bar Association
WASHINGTON (July 2023) - Patrick Keane, Executive Shareholder at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, was elected President of the Federal Circuit Bar Association (FCBA) for a one-year term that began on June 28, 2023. He has been an active leader on the FCBA Board of Directors for many years, most recently serving as President-Elect.
The FCBA is a national bar association for the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, with FCBA members who come from across the globe. The FCBA offers a forum of national and global meetings for promoting dialogue between the bar and the Federal Circuit, with participants from the government, private practice and corporations. As President, Keane will engage with the FCBA Board of Directors, FCBA members and the broader legal community to support and strengthen the organization’s mission to serve the Federal Circuit.
Keane’s background is as a globally recognized Intellectual Property Rights attorney and licensed Professional Engineer (PE), blending legal, technical and business expertise. He counsels clients in all aspects of Intellectual Property (IP), balancing patent litigation strategy, targeted use of USPTO post-grant AIA proceedings and strategic development of IP portfolios to optimize business leverage, revenue and product sales.
