Newark Litigation Attorney Christopher Dalton Appointed Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court District V-A Ethics Committee
Newark, NJ, October 15, 2009 — Christopher J. Dalton, counsel in the Litigation and Labor and Employment groups in the Newark office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, has been appointed as chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court District V-A Ethics Committee for 2009-2010. In that role, he will be responsible for coordinating ethics investigations in the district, which encompasses Newark and surrounding areas. His one-year term commenced on September 1, 2009.
Dalton has served on the Ethics Committee since 2003. As a committee member, he has investigated ethics grievances and has served as panel chair for ethics hearings. He was previously vice-chair of the committee for 2008-2009.
About the New Jersey Supreme Court District V-A Ethics Committee
The District V-A Ethics Committee is charged with investigating and prosecuting claims of ethical misconduct and violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct. The District V-A Ethics Committee, and the other Ethics Committees across the state, work under the auspices of the New Jersey Supreme Court and the Office of Attorney Ethics, and perform a valuable role in maintaining the integrity of the legal system and ensuring the public that complaints about lawyers are investigated and, where appropriate, lawyers are sanctioned for ethics violations.
