New Frontiers in Privacy Litigation: Protecting Your Business from Costly Class Actions

Jennifer Oliver, counsel in the firm's Litigation section, will be leading a firm-wide CLE presentation entitled "New Frontiers in Privacy Litigation: Protecting Your Business from Costly Class Actions."

This session will cover the new wave of data privacy cases flooding courts nationwide alleging violations of myriad statutory regimes, including wiretapping and video privacy. Considering individual plaintiffs’ private right of action to enforce these laws and significant statutory damages associated with violations, businesses must understand the source of these risks and how they can be avoided or mitigated. Failure to do so can result in a hefty litigation price tag for what they may perceive as routine or ordinary business operations or technology.
