Michael P. Strazzella Named Co-office Head of Buchanan’s DC Office

WASHINGTON, DC – September 22, 2015 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is pleased to announce that Government Relations Professional Michael P. Strazzella has been named co-head of Buchanan’s Washington, D.C. office. Strazzella will take Shareholder John P. Warner’s place as his term as office co-head comes to an end. He joins fellow Shareholder Jacqui Fiske Lazo in leading the office’s strategic initiatives.

“In a city like D.C., and especially for Buchanan, which has a very strong government relations practice, Mike’s experience and viewpoint will be of great benefit,” said Lazo. “His energy and vision for growth in the D.C. office will help us to continue to attract new talent and build on our existing capabilities.”

Strazzella, who also chairs the firm’s Federal Government Relations Practice Group, has experience in federal government relations, legislative strategy, grassroots advocacy, political action campaigns, and coalition building. He focuses his practice on the health industry; providers and payors, and has assisted clients in various industries, including pharmaceutical, hospital and health systems, health plans, and retail and compounding pharmacy industries.

With a career spanning two decades, Strazzella has experience managing congressional and regulatory affairs for several national physician associations. In those positions, he educated members of Congress, the White House and federal agencies on association issues; formulated lobbying strategies; and initiated coalition activity in support of positions. In addition to his experience managing congressional, regulatory and regional relations for various entities, Strazzella worked on several U.S. Senate and statewide campaigns.

He currently serves on several members of congress’ advisory committees and national political organizations.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Gettysburg College.
