On Thursday, September 27, Jen Olmedo-Rodriguez, together with FIU President Mark Rosenberg and Provost Kenneth Furton, had the honor of presenting the prestigious FIU President's Council Worlds Ahead Faculty Award to Professor Lestor Standiford during the Faculty Convocation and Awards Ceremony.
The President's Council is Florida International University's premier community relations board. The Council is comprised of business and civic leaders who act as brand ambassadors and advocates for FIU in the community, working to strengthen one of the most vital resources of South Florida's infrastructure. The President's Council Worlds Ahead Faculty Award recognizes faculty who: engage in significant research, partnership or creative initiatives that make an impact in their field, in the community and/or the world; promote student learning, innovation and collaboration in teaching, mentorship or advising; and demonstrate distinguished leadership within the university, the profession and the larger community.
