How Lisa Helps Clients
Through a diverse career spanning both the public and private sectors, Lisa has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience, and has cultivated strong relationships and connections. After receiving her Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center, Lisa clerked for The Hon. Thomas G. Saylor, Justice at the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. Most recently, she spent a decade as counsel at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Governor’s Office of General Counsel, where she served both Republican and Democratic administrations, representing the Department of Banking and Securities and the Department of Corrections.
Supplementing her legal background, Lisa brings significant political and policy experience to Buchanan. She served as the Deputy Research Director on Tom Corbett’s successful gubernatorial campaign and was a Transition Committee Lead on Governor-elect Corbett’s Transition Team. Thereafter, she became the Director of Policy at the Department of Community and Economic Development, where she formulated, advanced, and coordinated cross-agency implementation of community affairs and economic development policy initiatives, while serving as a senior advisor to the Department Secretary and a liaison to the Office of the Governor.
Lisa’s vast and varied governmental experience yields an inside perspective on the operations of multiple Commonwealth agencies, as well as a broad understanding of macro-level politics and policy development. As an experienced attorney and former Pennsylvania Supreme Court law clerk, Lisa possesses an acute understanding of the law, making her particularly adept at crafting legislative language to most effectively accomplish her clients’ objectives.
