Kentucky Mineral Law Conference

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Energy Counsel Robert L. Burns, Jr. will be a featured panelist on the first day of the Kentucky Mineral Law Conference, hosted by the Energy Mineral & Law Foundation.

Burns will participate in "Permitting and Regulatory Issues with Respect to Marcellus & Utica Shale Wells in New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio" panel. He will discuss pertinent regulatory and permitting topics including:

• Water acquisition, withdrawal, disposal permits and issues
• Well permitting process and obstacles that producers encounter
• State hydro-fracturing laws and regulations
• Drilling, casing and cementing issues
• Setbacks for private & public water supplies
• Outlook for the current New York moratorium on Marcellus Shale development

Joining Burns on the panel will be four regional practitioners from industry law firms.
