How Kathy Helps Clients
With over 20 years of experience, Kathy is a highly productive self-starter who extensively handles all aspects of U.S., foreign, and international applications, which includes preparing and filing applications, preparing and filing responses to office actions, handling post-registration maintenance requests, and responding to post-registration office actions. She also has vast research experience that she uses to conduct preliminary trademark searches.
Prior to working for Buchanan, Kathy held trademark paralegal positions where she performed duties like reviewing, updating, and maintaining dockets; processing all document legalizations for clients for use in connection with foreign applications/registrations; and reviewing and approving invoices for application, registration, and processing fees. In addition, she had a supervisory role where she was charged with interviewing, training, and managing staff members. Through these experiences, Kathy has honed her ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting high-pressured deadlines.
What Clients Can Expect

She provides prompt responses to client inquiries and regularly gives guidance on responding to actions received from the USPTO, as well as assistance in preparing specimens for satisfaction of use.
Outside the Office
Kathy enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends during her days off. She also volunteers for literacy programs, and works with children at her place of worship and a local branch of Military Wives Connect.
