Kathleen A. Deuschle

Kathleen Deuschle is the firm’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). She is responsible for the overall financial management of the firm and oversees financial operations, including financial reporting and analytics, cash management, budgeting, negotiating and maintaining credit facilities, billing and collections, internal controls, audits and tax compliance. 

Kathleen is an accomplished strategic executive with a record of successfully leading and advising firm leaders on finance and business strategies.

Kathleen has more than 25 years of experience in United States and global law firm financial management. Prior to joining Buchanan, Kathleen was a leader of two global Am Law 50 law firms. A champion of legal innovation and the use of data analytics, she has experience supporting projects related to all law firm operations including initiatives focused on IT, practice innovation, knowledge management, and talent management.

Most recently she served as CFO at a Los Angeles – based Am Law 50 law firm where she managed the finances and operations of its global platform. During her 14-year tenure as CFO, she initiated and oversaw business strategies that contributed to the firm’s strength and significant growth. Prior to that role, she was the Controller of Operations of a San Francisco – based Am Law 50 law firm, managing its Global Operations Center and all aspects of operations and innovation across the firm’s United States and international offices. A local to Pittsburgh, she began her legal career at a business law firm in the city as its Controller.
