HARRISBURG, Pa. – January 25, 2017 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announces it has hired John D. Payne, who spent 14 years representing Pennsylvania’s 106th District in Harrisburg, as principal in the firm’s state government relations group. Payne is the latest in the string of hires for the group, joining Stephen DeFrank and Hannah Walsh.

During his tenure in the Pennsylvania Legislature, Payne served as the majority chairman of the Gaming Oversight Committee. He also served on the following committees: Commerce, Consumer Protection, Intergovernmental Affairs, Liquor Control, Local Government, Tourism & Recreational Development, Transportation, Urban Affairs, Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee.

Prior to his years in the legislature, Payne was chairman of the Dauphin County Commissioners, Township of Derry supervisor, worked as a senior safety specialist at Hershey Food and served in the United States Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard.
