How Jessica Helps Clients

Jessica provides thoughtful and creative guidance to clients, representing them in a variety of real estate transactions.  She negotiates commercial leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants in office, retail, hospitality, agriculture and manufacturing industries as well as purchase/sale agreements for real property, loan documents, licenses, services agreements and other ancillary documents related to real estate management and development. She routinely reviews title commitments and conducts public records, municipal lien and statutory research.

Jessica also advises clients in connection with a variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions, corporate restructurings, private equity, venture capital, joint venture and other strategic licensing arrangements including the preparation of services, development, manufacturing, distribution, supply and reseller agreements. She regularly negotiates general corporate agreements such as employment, work-for-hire, independent contractor, termination/severance, confidentiality/non-disclosure, intellectual property and licensing agreements. She advises clients on entity selection and formation, management structure, equity compensation and issuance of securities.

Prior to joining Buchanan, Jessica practiced commercial real estate, corporate and securities law in both large and boutique firms for 13 years. Jessica worked in wealth management and political advisement prior to practicing law.

Outside the Office

Jessica is committed to serving her community and was awarded the Excellence in Community Service Award and the Summer Public Service Fellowship in law school. She continues to volunteer and fundraise for March of Dimes and serves as a community liaison for the American Cancer Society. She is a Girl Scout leader to her daughter’s first grade troop.

In Jessica’s free time, she enjoys traveling with her family, practicing yoga and spending time outdoors connecting with nature.
