Howard J. Wein Receives Fox Calhoun Award from the Pennsylvania Resources Council
Howard J. Wein, Shareholder in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s Energy Section, received the Fox Calhoun Award at the 2012 Annual Awards Dinner of the Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) on the evening of November 15.
Presented to individuals who have demonstrated uncommon leadership, the Fox Calhoun Award has only been presented 18 times during PRC’s 73-year history. The award is given to people who have made an exceptional contribution toward the conservation of natural resources and environmental protection in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Past recipients have included the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, the Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the former governor of Pennsylvania, members of Congress, executives of companies and non-profit organizations, and the mayor of Philadelphia. PRC is a citizen action environmental organization that is a state and national leader in recycling and waste reduction.
Furthermore, on Wein’s suggestion, the PRC received donations at the Dinner to assist victims of Hurricane Sandy, particularly those on Long Beach Island.
