Geoffrey Sasso Named to Cradle of Liberty Executive Board

PHILADELPHIA (October 2023) – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney shareholder Geoffrey Sasso has been named to the Executive Board of the Cradle of Liberty Council, Inc., Boy Scouts of America (COLBSA).  

The COLBSA is among the largest youth serving organizations in Pennsylvania. It serves 10,000 scouts and their families by offering the Scouting program to youth in Philadelphia, Delaware and Montgomery counties. The COLBSA’s Executive Board leads the organization in accomplishing its strategic priorities, which include increasing youth enrollment and employee and volunteer engagement, diversifying the council’s membership at all levels (youth and adult), and building and maintaining state of the art facilities to enhance program opportunities for its scouts.

“Scouting has and continues to be a major part of my personal and professional life. The COLBSA offers many enriching experiences for youth in the Greater Philadelphia region, and I look forward to taking on a more active role in supporting the organization’s continuing success,” said Sasso.

Sasso started with Scouts as a Tiger Cub, earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1999, and for the past decade has volunteered his time and resources with the COLBSA and the Greater Philadelphia chapter of the National Eagle Scout Association.

Sasso is a shareholder in Buchanan’s litigation section. He has extensive experience providing counsel on sensitive, high-profile, and high-exposure commercial litigation matters and serving as outside general counsel for clients in various industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, higher education, non-profit, and banking/lending.
