Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Executive Shareholder Wendelynne J. Newton and Health Care Shareholder John R. Washlick presented at the Third Annual American Health Law Association “Health Care Transactions” program in Nashville, TN on April 16-17. The program focused on the latest developments, strategies and deal forecasts involving contemporary health care business transactions, including M&A trends, emerging care models, financing techniques, pre and post-deal risk management and more.
Newton's presentation, “From Gun Jumping to Smoking Guns-Potential Antitrust Issues in Transactions,” addressed antitrust-related issues and planning considerations before and during the negotiations of merger and acquisition transaction.
Washlick's presentation, “Formation and Operation of Strategic Health Care Alliances: Distilling Alignment from Mash,” discussed the formation of alliances and clinically integrated networks as a strategic alternative to traditional acquisitive transactions. John has served as the Chair of the AHLA program since its inception, which has grown in attendance each year and has emerged as a unique conference that brings together leading national healthcare attorneys, business advisors and investment bankers.
