Firm's New Harrisburg Office Development Noted in Patriot-News
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's new Harrisburg office development was noted as a key component of the capital city's revitalization efforts in an op-ed published in The Patriot-News on November 20, 2011.
The opinion piece, written by the current and incoming presidents of Harrisburg Young Professionals, highlighted development projects that are changing the landscape of the state capital.
"Just a few months ago, the corner of Second and State streets sat vacant and unused," explained the article. "Today, an LEED, or green, certified building is under construction to house the new Harrisburg headquarters for the law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney."
Members of Harrisburg Young Professionals have been active in the city's economic resurgence, participating in projects for Harrisburg University, Harrisburg Area Community College and various new housing developments. In the op-ed, the organization's leadership pledged to continue the "pursuit of making Harrisburg a better place to live, work and play."
Stephen C. Gierasch, co-managing shareholder of the Buchanan's Harrisburg office, echoed the Harrisburg Young Professionals' excitement for their city in a previous article discussing the firm's new development.
"A lot of significant commerce takes place in downtown," he said. "There is a vibrancy to being downtown and seeing people connect."
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's new Harrisburg offices are slated to open in mid-2012.
