EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program Success: Buchanan Helps Investor Get Permanent Green Card

Dilip Patel and Bill Flynn, Shareholder and Of Counsel in the firm’s Immigration section, helped a client and his family receive their unconditional Green Cards based on a direct investment in a new Florida business. When our client came to Florida with his family, the team helped him to qualify for the EB-5 Program, designed to stimulate the U.S. economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. As a result, his client was able to invest $1 million to create a medical diagnostic laboratory business in the U.S.

As the business grew, the team prepared for the next step – filing for permanent resident status without conditions. Throughout the long, complex process, the team was responsive to each of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ requests for additional documentation and clarifications. In June 2018, the client and his family received their green cards, granting them permanent residence. The business is now well established, profitable and employs 35 workers. Our clients will be eligible to apply for Naturalization as U.S. Citizens once they meet the five-year continuous residency requirement.
