DOJ to Crack Down on Hoarders, Price Gougers as Patterns Arise in States - WJLA
Gretchen Jankowski, co-chair of the firm's Litigation section, comments on an executive order that aims to crack down on individuals and businesses hoarding or price gouging, and the lack of clarity on how the Justice Department will handle such cases, in WJLA's article "DOJ to Crack Down on Hoarders, Price Gougers as Patterns Arise in States."
The executive order does not address pricing or impact existing state price gouging laws, explained Gretchen Jankowski, co-chair of the litigation section at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC law firm.
"The DOJ will investigate whether hoarding is an attempt to manipulate the market by creating a shortage under antitrust laws," Jankowski said.
The article has been picked up my multiple media outlets.
