Courageous Conversations: Black Hairstyles in the Workplace

Continuing our celebration of Black History Month, Buchanan’s CDIO Lloyd Freeman will be hosting a courageous conversation with Professor D. Wendy Greene to examine the law and effects of racial discrimination against African descendants’ natural hair in the workplace. The two will discuss the “invisible harms” and other negative impacts caused by race-based natural hair discrimination. As one of the world’s leading experts on “grooming codes discrimination,” Professor Greene will explore landmark legal reforms on this topic, which her scholarly advocacy has shaped and are aimed at creating truly inclusive workplaces that celebrate Black hairstyles and diversity.

This program has been approved for 1.0 Ethics CLE credit for PA, and 1.0 credits for the Diversity and/or Elimination of Bias Requirement for CA, NY, NJ and WV. Credit for all other states is available on request pending approval. Please indicate if you need CLE credit on the registration form.
