Buchanan's Jack Barbour Quoted on Firm, Legal Industry Hiring Trends in Tribune-Review

Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has scored 30 lateral hires in the first part of 2011, firm CEO Jack Barbour told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review in the "Legal eagles fly" article published August 1, 2011.

"All of them are experienced attorneys," Barbour said of the firm's additions. "And the year's not over yet. There's more of a focus in the industry on the productivity of lawyers, as opposed to lawyers being on a life track at a particular firm."

The article noted Buchanan's merger with Ryan Russell Ogden & Seltzer in January, which helped the firm respond to clients needs with regard to the Marcellus Shale.

"We are not growing for the sake of growth, but have a lot of specific needs we're seeking to fill," Barbour said.
