The Washington Post wrote in a recent article that the Town of Chevy Chase will continue to seek counsel from Buchanan team including Robert L. Shuster, James C. Wiltraut, Terrence Heubert and James O’Toole to evaluate the Maryland Transit Administration’s plans to build a 16-mile light-rail line that will run along the town’s border. The proposed line, the Purple Line, would run between Bethesda and New Carrollton, consist of 21 stations and connect Maryland’s spokes of the Metrorail system with Amtrak and MARC commuter rail stations.

“We know there will be people out there who will label us, but our community will have major impacts [from a Purple Line], and we want to make sure they’ve followed proper procedures,” Mayor Pat Burda told the publication.

This will be Buchanan’s second month of work for the town.
