Buchanan Receives Gold Award for Best USA IP Firm: Patent Prosecution at 2015 International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards
Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney received the Gold Award for “Best USA IP Firm: Patent Prosecution” at Leaders League’s 2015 International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards (ILASA) which took place on June 24 in New York City. The award recognizes leading firms in the domestic market for their excellent annual results and lasting performance in management and leadership combined with expertise in patent prosecution practice and a high level of achievement in the national market.
The award winners of each category were selected by special jury panels, which included more than 100 general counsel of Fortune 500 companies or equivalent. The nominees also submitted written surveys to showcase their work and support the nomination. Shareholders Kristi A. Davidson and David J. Fernandez attended the event and accepted the award on Buchanan’s behalf.
More than 450 in-house counsel and law firms from around the world gathered for the 8th annual ILASA – a one-day program organized to provide participants with major networking opportunities, roundtables led by world-class speakers and lunch and dinner receptions.
In addition to the event, the Leaders League published their 2015 annual report, titled “Innovation – Technology & Intellectual Property,” in which three from Buchanan were recognized for their legal work and experience.
Buchanan Executive Shareholder Patrick C. Keane and Shareholder Matthew L. Schneider both came recommended under the USA Nationwide Best Law Firms: Patent Prosecution category. Buchanan’s Philip L. Hirschhorn was noted for his strong expertise under Patent Litigation and was recommended under the New York Best Law Firms: Patent Litigation category.
