Buchanan Litigator James M. Becker Quoted on False Claims Act in National Law Journal
False Claims Act cases are backlogged in Boston, spurring judges to preemptively unseal them for public analysis.
James M. Becker, a shareholder in Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's Litigation Section, told the National Law Journal, in an article published August 1, 2011, that in almost every case, the government files a motion to extend the seal.
"With any individual judge it's a question of how long they're willing to grant an extension of a seal," he said. "Some judges have a longer rope of patience than others."
