New York, NY, October 8, 2009 — Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC announced today the addition of Philip L. Hirschhorn to the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation Section. Last week, the firm announced the addition of Erin M. Dunston to its Intellectual Property Section in the firm's Alexandria office. Hirschhorn joins the firm as a shareholder in the New York City office. Prior to joining Buchanan, he was a partner with the New York office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

Hirschhorn's practice focuses on intellectual property and patent litigation. He has extensive litigation and client counseling experience, with particular emphasis on representing clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device and computer industries.

"We have been steadily adding to our Litigation Practice in several key areas," stated Barry I. Slotnick, chairman of the firm's New York Litigation Practice. Over the past several months, the firm has added more than 10 attorneys to its Litigation Practice, covering areas including intellectual property, government contracts and family law. "Phil's extensive litigation background in intellectual property will complement our service offerings, particularly for our New York-based clients," Slotnick added.
