Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Set to Move In As Lead Tenant in New Downtown Building on Second Street
Harrisburg, Pa. – August 3, 2012 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC is relocating its Harrisburg offices to the newly constructed Second and State building on August 17. The new office officially opens August 20.
As an anchor tenant, the firm will occupy nearly two-thirds of the 50,000 square-foot building, located at 409 North Second Street, just one block from the Capitol. The new office will house all of Buchanan’s 50-plus Harrisburg-based attorneys, government relations professionals and employees.
“It’s a prominent place to be, and it makes a great statement about our presence in the Harrisburg market,” Stephen C. Gierasch, co-managing shareholder of the office, said of the new space. Buchanan, which boasts the largest State Government Relations Practice in Pennsylvania, announced in early 2011 that it planned to move into the new building. Gierasch added, "We are committed to the future of this region, and as business leaders in this community, we are proud to play a significant role in investing in its growth."
Harrisburg-based WCI Partners led the $7 million construction project, which includes a geothermal heat system and other green features, and is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council as seeking a Gold Leadership in Energy and Environmental Designation (LEED) rating.
