Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Represents University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in Merger with Saint Joseph’s University
A cross-office, multi-disciplinary Buchanan team successfully represented University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in its recent merger with Saint Joseph’s University. The merger was effective June 1, 2022, after all required approvals and consents were obtained from the U.S. Department of Education, Pennsylvania Department of Education, Federal Trade Commission, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas (Orphans’ Court Division), Middle States Commission on Higher Education and other specialty accreditation agencies, bond trustees, and other regulatory agencies. The merger combined University of the Sciences, a leader in healthcare and science education for 200 years, with Saint Joseph’s and its Jesuit academic tradition. Buchanan’s primary legal team, led by Dale Webber, also included: Jan Wenzel, Lynn Freeman, Carrie Amezcua, John McGrady, Charlene Barker Gedeus, Jerry Burns, Jaime Tuite, Molly Webber, Vanessa Wilson and Rachel Rossi.
