Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Names New White Collar Practice Group Leader
MIAMI (February 2023) – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney is pleased to announce that George Karavetsos, a shareholder and former director of the FDA’s Office of Criminal Investigations, will be the white collar defense, compliance and investigations practice group leader.
Having the unique combination of experience as a former regulatory attorney with the FDA, federal prosecutor, and director of FDA’s Office of Criminal Investigations, Karavetsos brings a rare perspective which assists clients in achieving exceptional results in highly complex regulatory matters, and high-stakes civil, criminal, and corporate litigation.
Buchanan’s white collar practice group includes seasoned criminal trial lawyers, former state and federal prosecutors, former SEC officials, and former law enforcement professionals that are highly skilled and experienced in constructing compliance programs, conducting internal investigations, and defending clients against criminal allegations. The firm also recently promoted Allison Borgatti, former Assistant District Attorney with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, to shareholder, and Jordan Yeagley to counsel. The firm has also recently hired Jason Bologna, a former Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and Megan Scheib who has considerable experience at the federal, state, and local levels, including trials, appeals, governmental inquiries and internal investigations.
