Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Names Kimberly Gessner Co-Chair of Construction Litigation Practice

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – August 8, 2016 – Kimberly A. Gessner, counsel with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, has been named co-chair of the firm’s construction litigation practice. Gessner, who joined the firm five years ago, is Board Certified in Construction Law. She represents a wide range of construction clients, including general contractors, subcontractors, and materialmen in many different aspects of the construction process.

In addition to construction litigation, Gessner concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation matters across multiple disciplines, including business litigation and probate litigation. She provides clients with a wide range of legal services, not only in every aspect of public and private construction, but also business torts, contract disputes, defense and prosecution of lender liability actions, probate and fiduciary litigation, usury, landlord/tenant issues, real property litigation, and theft of trade secrets, among others. Her practice focuses primarily on resolving legal disputes through pre-suit negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, civil litigation, mediation and trial.

Since 2013, Gessner has been selected for inclusion to the Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. She is also in her fourth year of a six- year term serving on The Florida Bar's Construction Law Certification Committee where she participates in approving applicants and drafting and grading the Construction Law Board Certification Exam. She is co-chair of the Broward County Bar Association’s Publicity Committee which is responsible for the production of the Bar’s monthly magazine, The Barrister, circulated to all 10,000 lawyers/associate members in Broward County.

Gessner is admitted to The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. She earned her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broward Law Center.
