PITTSBURGH – May 17, 2016 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announces that Victoria Bechtold Kush is the distinguished recipient of Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania’s 2016 Woman of Distinction award in the field of Government & Law.
The award is given to women who exhibit leadership skills in their professional and philanthropic endeavors and create a significant impact on the community. The award recipients also embody the values of courage, confidence and character that are at the core of the Girl Scouts’ mission.
Kush focuses her civil litigation practice on representing a wide variety of corporations and business entities, including energy companies, healthcare institutions, commercial resorts, non-profit entities and municipalities. Outside the courtroom, Kush is a classically trained soprano. She has headlined chamber concerts throughout the eastern United States, with noteworthy performances before then-Vice President Cheney and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. In 2004, Kush won the title of Miss Pennsylvania, going on to represent the Commonwealth at the Miss America pageant. During her year-long reign, she addressed the Pennsylvania Senate on two occasions and made more than 250 statewide appearances advocating for technology in education and tobacco-free youth, earning a Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
