Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Announces Plans to Open Office in Fort Lauderdale, Adds Two Finance Shareholders
Along with Hanaka, the lawyers and staff from the firm’s Aventura office, which opened nearly 25 years ago and has enjoyed a stellar reputation in the area, will be moving to the Fort Lauderdale location as part of the firm’s strategic plan to entrench itself in South Florida’s business market. The move is expected to occur in the fall of this year.
Jack Kessler, who opened the Aventura office in 1990 and co-manages the firm’s South Florida offices with shareholder Rick Morgan, said, “our move to Fort Lauderdale is a natural expansion of our client base and part of our firm’s overall strategic plan to expand our footprint in South Florida. Phil and John bring a wealth of sophisticated experience in the real estate and commercial lending arena, for which the firm is nationally recognized.”
“We see the commercial real estate sector in South Florida as an area of significant growth,” added Morgan. “Anchored by Phil and John, our new office in Fort Lauderdale will be well-positioned to help our financial services clients navigate legal issues in this area.”
Hanaka was most recently with Angelo & Banta P.A. He brings more than 13 years of experience working with both national and regional financial institutions throughout South Florida and will join the firm as part of its Financial Services Section.
“I look forward to providing my clients with a high level of service at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney,” said Hanaka. “This firm is committed to giving its attorneys the resources they need to have success and I’m confident I will thrive in this environment.”
Hanaka earned his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
