Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Advises Butler Health System in Acquisition of Clarion Healthcare System
PITTSBURGH – December 2, 2019 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney advised Butler Health System (BHS), a 326-bed acute-care facility with a broad range of surgical, medical, emergency, and psychiatric services, with its acquisition of Clarion Healthcare System (CHS) and its affiliate, Clarion Hospital, a 70-bed hospital approximately 80 miles north of Pittsburgh. Butler Health System also acquired from Clarion's affiliates, Health Services of Clarion Inc. and Clarion Development Corp. Inc.
In July of 2019 BHS and Clarion Health System CHS submitted a signed and executed definitive agreement to regulatory authorities for review and approval. These authorities included without limitation the PA Office of Attorney General and Department of Health. Through combined efforts, BHS and CHS will continue to assure and solidify healthcare in their communities, providing high quality, accessible, and affordable services. With BHS, CHS looks forward to strategic investments in new programs, services and technology, all of which are important to keeping quality care close to home.
Buchanan’s healthcare team of Jan Wenzel, Thomas Boyle, Michelle Garvey Brennfleck and Tanya Leshko represented BHS in the transaction.
