Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Adds Three California Litigators to its San Diego Office
SAN DIEGO (December 2022) - Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney continues its strategic growth in California with the addition of Jennifer Oliver to its litigation section. Oliver joins Buchanan’s San Diego office along, with two litigation associates Timothy Daveler and Bella Olmedo.
Oliver focuses her practice on complex litigation, specifically data breaches, defending consumer class actions, and antitrust. She has played active roles in several high-profile jury trials, serving as lead counsel in complex mediations, and arguing before courts at both the trial and appellate levels. She also often counsels clients on antitrust matters related to mergers and acquisitions. She has experience litigating monopolization claims, trade secrets, RICO conspiracies, securities fraud, unfair trade practices, breaches of contract and privacy matters. She holds an International Association of Privacy Professionals Certification and is a longtime privacy professional.
“I wanted to join a firm that could help me foster long-term relationships with my clients,” said Oliver. “Buchanan’s full-service, national platform, along with its strong class action defense and antitrust practices, will support building those relationships and delivering value to clients.”
With experience on both the plaintiff and defense sides, Oliver has a deep understanding of the legal strategies that support clients’ business objectives. She began her career at an Am Law 20 firm focusing on complex business litigation, and prior to joining Buchanan, represented plaintiffs at a boutique class action and antitrust law firm. She also formed and led the privacy, advice and counseling, and merger control practice group at her previous firm.
“Growth in our San Diego office is important to support the firm’s national footprint and our bench strength in California,” said Kimberly Arouh, Chair of California Litigation and head of the San Diego office. “We welcome Jennifer, Tim and Bella to the firm as we continue to enhance litigation services for our clients in California and across the firm.”
Daveler and Olmedo both join as associates in the firm’s litigation section. Daveler represents commercial clients and healthcare providers in complex litigation. Before practicing law, he held various business management roles for a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company.
Olmedo counsels and represents clients on a range of healthcare-related issues, including litigation and regulatory compliance matters. She has experience conducting internal investigations, drafting policies and agreements to facilitate regulatory compliance, providing guidance on HIPAA and privacy laws, and representing health care providers in complex litigation.
