Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney Adds New Tax Shareholder
PHILADELPHIA (December 2022) – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney continues its strategic growth with the addition of Jared Johnson, a shareholder in its tax section. He joins the firm’s Philadelphia office. As an attorney and certified public accountant (CPA), he provides tax representation and guidance on complex tax laws and disputes, corporate and pass-through transactions, reporting, asset protection, and cross-border issues.

Johnson counsels businesses throughout their life cycle from incubation and startup through growth and sale or dissolution. He provides strategic direction on planning, restructuring, drafting, and reporting for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and pass-through entities.
Johnson advises clients on matters related to cross-border transactions at the international and state levels, helping numerous family businesses and high-net-worth individuals minimize their tax risks and liabilities through strategic business administration and tax planning. Johnson’s practice also focuses on executive compensation, as well as tax issues in the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and sports, media, and entertainment areas. He has worked with many clients to establish tax-exempt organizations, often serving as an officer on their boards.

With his nationwide practice, Johnson is admitted to practice in California, Oregon, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Washington. He is also admitted in all California federal District courts, the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Tax Court, and U.S. Court of International Trade. He holds a law degree and a certificate in dispute resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law. He also holds an LL.M. in taxation from University of Alabama School of Law.
