Buchanan Grows in New York With Three Additions in Corporate and Labor and Employment Practices
NEW YORK – June 19, 2018 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney has added Rajiv Khanna as shareholder in the Corporate section, Ivan D. Smith as shareholder and Maureen M. Stampp as counsel in the Labor & Employment section in the firm’s New York office.
“With Rajiv, we continue to add depth to our New York Corporate group and to our bench of M&A expertise. The caliber of his practice, along with his unwavering focus on client service dovetails perfectly with our existing corporate platform, and other supporting practice areas across the firm,” said Jennifer R. Minter, chair of Buchanan’s Corporate section.
“Ivan and Maureen bring significant experience in traditional labor and employment law and help deepen our bench in New York and New Jersey. They are outstanding lawyers who provide high-level personal service, and we’re thrilled to have them on the team,” said Joseph J. Centeno, co-chair of Buchanan’s Labor & Employment section.
Khanna advises clients on domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional M&A transactions. He is the architect of many seminal path-breaking transactions, including the first proposed reverse merger of a privately held Indian corporation with a publicly traded U.S. company.
Smith represents employers in class action, employment litigation and traditional labor law disputes. He also focuses on entertainment law, representing producers, writers, directors and artists in music, television and film industries, as well as investors and tech companies in intellectual property and licensing rights matters.
Stampp works with property management firms and other multi-employer entities to provide counsel in all facets of traditional labor law, as well as employment defense and ERISA litigation. She also advises employers on preventative, corrective and remedial measures.
“I joined Buchanan because of its strong IP capabilities in pharmaceutical and technology industries, which are at the core of my practice. I was also drawn to the firm’s client-oriented approach and comprehensive legal services,” noted Khanna.
“Buchanan’s platform allows me to provide more services across the firm to my clients and gives me the opportunity to expand my entertainment law practice on a national level,” said Smith.
“I am impressed with Buchanan’s full-service approach, which enables me to offer my clients greater value. It is also refreshing to see a firm whose commitment to diversity is more than lip-service,” added Stampp.
