Buchanan Advisory on Medical Body Area Networks Published by Law360’s ‘Expert Analysis’ Section

A client advisory written by Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney FDA Shareholders Edward Allera and Barbara Binzak was picked up for publication in the “Expert Analysis” section of Law360 on October 23, 2012.

Medical body area networks, or MBANs, “allow for wireless monitoring of patients and allow freedom of movement of a patient within a hospital facility or at home,” Allera and Binzak wrote.

For this reason, MBANs “represent a potentially significant health care advance; however, this technology also presents some unique technological challenges and risks.”
