Brian Rath Named to “New Leaders of the Bar” by New Jersey Law Journal

Princeton, NJ – August 20, 2012 – Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC is proud to announce that Brian Rath, Counsel in the firm’s Health Care Section, was named to the 2012 “New Leaders of the Bar” list, formerly called “40 Under 40.” Rath was chosen to receive this special recognition after careful review by the editorial department of the New Jersey Law Journal. He is the fourth lawyer from Buchanan to receive this recognition over the past six years.

"Brian is an exceptional lawyer and community leader," said Mary Sue Henifin, managing shareholder of the firm's Princeton office. "He is a clear choice for recognition among his peers,” she added.

Rath provides multifaceted representation to the firm's health care clients, including regulatory counseling, transactional and focused litigation. He also easily adapts to areas of law in which he does not practice on a daily basis. For example, although he is primarily a regulatory and litigation attorney serving long term care clients, Rath was successfully able to integrate himself into the field of cancer research and clinical trial contracting as the temporary in-house counsel for the Coalition of Cancer Cooperative Groups.

Rath is active in the community and serves on a number of nonprofit boards. After taking a leave of absence when he underwent a liver transplant, Rath returned to his position as Chair of the board of trustees of United Way of Greater Mercer County and to his demanding practice of law. Serving his community is a testament to his abilities and leadership role in the community, as well as his role as a trusted counselor to his clients.

Rath is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. in History with a Biology Minor.
