Yova Borovska, counsel in Buchanan’s Immigration and Labor & Employment sections, served as one of two presenters at a CLE webinar held by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Central Florida Chapter as part of its monthly webinar series.
Yova discussed topics related to the J-1 visa category, the two-year home residency requirement, and J-1 waiver options such as through a no objection statement, Interested Government Agency, Conrad 30, exceptional hardship and persecution. She also talked about creative strategies to circumvent or delay the completion of the two-year home residency requirement and covered important post-waiver considerations for J-1 exchange visitors relating to travel, change of status and applying for permanent residency.
